User-friendliness is high on the list of qualities to look for in any software.

If a platform is user-friendly, it should be simple to use for all and, therefore, easier to implement. It will make people’s tasks straightforward and remove any frustration. 

The problem is, “user-friendly” means different things to different people. What’s simple to one group might not be for another group. 

We’ve designed our tolearn online food safety management platform with all user levels in mind. 

But we’re aware of how easy the term “user friendly” is to throw out there as a selling point. 

So, rather than do that, let’s look at the different features we’ve incorporated to build a platform for all users.  

Intuitive Design 

tolearn has been designed and developed to make the learning workflow simple and clear for every user.  

All users have access to a central dashboard that shows current courses and provides instant access to certificates. 

All buttons, menu icons and interface items are clear and self-explanatory to avoid confusion. 

So, everyone can perform their tasks quickly and easily. 

Responsive Layout

The device you use to access an online platform shouldn’t determine your experience. 

tolearn uses a responsive design that automatically scales to suit the platform. The aesthetic is the same. All of the information is the same. All of the features are the same. 

The only thing that changes is the layout, which adjusts for optimum usability. 

So, you get a consistent experience whether you log in via desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. And can access learning materials or complete food safety culture surveys on the device you’re most comfortable with (or have access to).

User Accessibility

tolearn is a completely online platform. You don’t need to download software and the platform isn’t location specific. 

All you need is a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, etc.) and an internet connection.  

This means you can log in to your account, 24/7, 365 days a year, from anywhere in the world. Not that we’re suggesting you complete food safety courses on holiday, of course. 

User Engagement

Engagement starts with good communication between the user and the system administrator.  

tolearn features tools for admins and users to interact on which courses need completing, course progress and resolving queries. 

All courses are engaging and interactive by design. We’ve created them with clearly defined objectives detailing learning outcomes, so users understand what they gain by completing a course. 

Each course includes workplace scenarios, animated content, videos and knowledge checks, so users aren’t left feeling bored or unenthused by what they’re learning. 

Course material is based on our own experience and techniques honed from delivering training for 25+ years and interacting with thousands of students along the way. 

This experience tells us that black-and-white documents and exam papers aren’t the only—or necessarily the best—way to learn. Engaging students in fresh and interactive ways is the key to better understanding and results. 

Progress Tracking 

Managing multiple users who are partaking in different courses and learning at different speeds can be overwhelming. 

tolearn solves this with a simple training matrix. Administrators get a bird’s eye view of training progress, with visual indicators to show: 

  • Which courses are completed, in-progress, not started, or not assigned
  • Percentage of individual courses completed
  • When refresher training is required or overdue

The platform also tracks and automatically saves a user’s progress. So, if you have to leave a course before completing it, you can easily pick up where you left off. 

This allows team members to complete training at a pace that suits them and at whatever time of day they learn best.  

Easy Set Up

tolearn is set up at the click of a button. Simply create your sites, add users and assign them the relevant courses. 

Users can be added in bulk or individually. Once in the system, each person is automatically emailed login details that they can use to log in, track progress, complete courses and view certificates.

User Support

tolearn is designed to appeal to the needs of all users regardless of technical expertise. But, as said “user-friendly” is a subjective term. So, we’re always here if you need us. 

Our platform has a built-in “Support” button to raise a query and our customer support team will provide tailored assistance.
